Calling in "sick" to my weigh-in...

Not because I'm actually sick, but because someone who really needs me is...

Yes, that's a puke catcher. Have you ever seen a more pathetic sight? Breaks my heart :(
Jade came home from school on Tuesday with an "itchy" eye. Wednesday morning, it was bloodshot, watering, and gunky. Pink eye. Ugh. By Thursday, the pink eye was clearing up (thanks to my miracle breastmilk- it's good for much more than feeding the baby in case you didn't know...literally clears eye infections within days every time I have tried it!) but then she had a fever and was in bed sleeping all day and refused to eat. That evening I got her to at least drink some juice, which she then puked up a half hour later. This morning she woke up, still fighting a fever, and with an icky belly and still refusing to eat. She has had dry heaves and has been throwing up bile off and on since. Poor baby :( I snapped this depressing picture (which is not nice, I know, but I couldn't resist) this morning on our way to drop Cole off at preschool. He and the rest of us, thank goodness, are in the clear and feeling 100%, at least for now.

So for the last three days, I have been on Germ Duty. I'm not one to clean with chemicals, but when you're dealing with whatever mega-bug that Jade has caught, you gotta pull out the big guns...

In an effort to keep the rest of us healthy, me and Lysol have become BFF's. Between cleaning like a crazy woman and playing nurse to my sweet sickie girl, I've had very little time for anything else :( And that brings me to why I'm playing hookie on weigh-in day...I'm just not in the mood.

I am proud to say, however, that I have been keeping up on my Couch to 5k training. I'm in Week 6, and in the last 2 weeks I have run 2.5 miles straight (no stopping to walk!)  twice....goooooooo me! And tomorrow I am running a 5k! I will post about it to let you know how it goes. After the week I've had, I'm super exhausted, but still looking forward to the race. My runs have been a nice break from dealing with the sickies, and getting me out of this house!

So next week I will be sure to start back up with Mommies on a Mission and weigh-in for ya'll. Wish me luck for tomorrow's race, and also say a quick little prayer for the health of our family, and that all my Lysol-ing wasn't done in vain...germs be gone!!!
